I Lose Frequently

And I have come to realize that it could be a good thing.

One of the things that I have learned from my mentor is, “In business, you will experience tons of bad days. But it is that few good days that make it all worth it.”

- It’s Okay to Lose Sometimes: What Matters Is What You Learn From It

Losing is not always a bad thing; it is an opportunity to learn and grow. Learning from failures is crucial for career success and personal development. They are lessons that can’t be taught from books and textbooks — they come from experience. And I won’t have learnt from these if I hadn’t lost.

But beyond the loss, I need to overcome it and to do so, I need to have the right mindset and attitude. I can’t let what happened in the past define who I am in the present or what will happen in future. I know that I should never be afraid of trying again or failing again because I learn more from being wrong than they will ever learn just sitting around doing nothing!

- How to Win at Losing So That You Are Always Improving

Ego loss is a term for when we are able to see our own mistakes objectively and not become paralyzed by them. Ego loss is not only an essential part of becoming a better person, it can also be a necessary tool for self-reflection.
